ナトリウムチャネルはその高いナトリウム選択性により、細胞膜を通過するナトリウムイオンの移動に関与します。

 

ナトリウムチャネルは他のイオンチャネルと比較して、てんかん、ドラベ症候群、ウェスト症候群、過敏性腸症候群、QT延長症候群、精神神経障害、疼痛および無痛症などの広範なチャネル病と関連があります。
